All work is hand lettered and painted with the liberal addition of 22ct English Gold Leaf.
Using a variety of pens, nibs, inks, paints, handmade papers etc. I create both contemporary and traditional lettering, a time consuming and technically demanding practice that exudes the care and detail once bestowed upon the written word, now largely lost to technology.
With little margin for error, my method of working is finely tuned and accurate. I apply contemporary
materials using centuries old techniques.
My product range includes decorative and floral canvases, formal and contemporary calligraphy with gilding, hand painted wedding stationery , greetings cards and prints.
Driven by the challenge of precision and a fascination with medieval manuscripts my work displays a profusion of colour, gold leaf and lettering.
I have created numerous commissions such as Freedom of the City scrolls and former clients include Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason, the Royal Air Force, Lincoln Cathedral and Castle, plus a wide range of individual commissions.
In 1993 I moved to Lincoln and was accepted at Harding House Gallery on Steep Hill where I am currently the only founder artist involved and I am a member of the Lincolnshire Artists' Society.
